Call it the PADI Rescue Diver program! The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you’ll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

What do I need to start?

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization
• Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
• Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR & First Aid program within the past 24 months (we can offer you the Emergency First Response Course)
• Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can participate in the PADI Rescue Diver Course

• If the participant answers yes to any of the medical questions listed then a signed clearance from a doctor, valid within 12 months will be required

What will I do?

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you’ll cover:

• Dive first aid
• Emergency management and equipment
• Swimming and non-swimming assists
• Panicked diver response
• Underwater problems
• Missing diver procedures
• Surfacing the unconscious diver
• In water artificial respiration
• Egress (exits)
• First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
• Dive accident scenarios

How long will it take?

• Minimum Open Water Training: five sessions over two days

We generally prefer to conduct our courses over a relaxed 3 days schedule, however if you also need to complete the Emergency First Response Course in conjunction with the Rescue Course then we run the program over 4 days.

Start Emergency First Response in the classroom with the DVD and Little Annie before moving on to your next level of diver training with the Rescue Diver academics and knowledge development session.

Day One Itinerary:

10:00 – 13:30 EFR Classroom Session, Bangkok Office located at Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain station exit number 4
13:30 – 14:30 Lunch
14:30 – 17:30 Rescue Diver Classroom Session

Day Two Itinerary:

10:00 – 12:00 Self Rescue Review and Rescue Exercises in Confined Water (Swimming Pool Session) students will meet at the classroom first.
12:30 – 13:30 Lunch
14:00 – 17:00 Rescue Exercise Practice in Confined Water

Day Three Itinerary (times vary depending on diving location):

07:00 – 07:45 Collection from your Hotel in Pattaya
08:00 – 08:15 Boat Departs from Pattaya Pier
09:45 – 10:45 Equipment set up and Safety Briefing
10:45 – 12:00 Rescue Scenario’s 1 and 2
12:00 – 13:30 Lunch and time for relaxing
13:30 – 15:00 Rescue Scenario’s 3 and 4
15:00 – 16:30 Journey back and arrival at Pattaya Pier

Emergency First Response Course

Start Emergency First Response gives a rounded understanding in providing first aid in everyday situations and is the first step before moving on to your next level of diver training with the Rescue Diver.

Why Emergency First Response?

Emergency First Response gives you the tools you need to perform CPR and First Aid. Whether you’re a diver or a non-diver, Emergency First Response prepares you to properly handle potentially life-threatening situations.

• No dive certification required
• No minimum age limit

What will I do?

This comprehensive program is composed of two core modules that can be taught in tandem or as stand-alone courses: Emergency First Response – Primary Care and Emergency First Response – Secondary Care. Together, these courses proved extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, as well as providing optional (yet recommended) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Emergency Oxygen sections.
